Live National League South updates: Maidenhead United vs Horsham

That's it. Maidenhead have their first win of the season after a much improved second half display. Clerima and Mitchell-Lawson with the goals, both headers! 2-1

A win would take the Magpies up to 14th as it stands. Still a couple of minutes to play though. 2-1

This will be a big win for the Magpies if they can hold on here. Their performance in the first and second halves were like chalk and cheese. They deserve this win and hopefully it will allow them to settle into the National League South and play with a bit more freedom and confidence. 2-1

90' Maidenhead currently have Horsham where they want them. Inside their own area defending. But there's still time for a late twist here if Horsham are able to galvanise themselves. 2-1

90' There will be eight minutes of stoppage time.

85' Maidenhead have five minutes plus stoppages to see this through for their first win of the season. It's been a classic game of two halves, with the Magpies having been much the better of the two sides in this second period. 2-1

Mitchell-Lawson celebrates the goal which has put the Magpies in front here.

80' Maidenhead push for a third. Dulson's free kick from just outside the area is blocked. 2-1

74' GOAL MAIDENHEAD! Josh Popoola does really well on the right after being well picked out by Dulson. He sends in a great cross that Mitchell-Lawson heads home from inside the six yard box. Maidenhead in front! 2-1

68' Clerima again with another header at the back post but it goes off the back of de Havilland and away for a goal kick to Horsham 1-1

68'  Dulson skips away from his man - I think it was Strange - who takes him out and receives a yellow card. Dulson was away and there's a claim that could have been a red card for the Horsham defender. 1-1

A good bank holiday crowd here at York Road. They're enjoying the sunshine and Maidenhead's second half performance if not the first half. 1-1

Clerima's equaliser and celebrations from earlier in the half.

58' The break in play has just checked Maidenhead's momentum. For 10 minutes or so at the start of the half they were absolutely flying. 1-1

50' The ball seemed to take an age to cross the goal line but the ball bounced right into the corner and Lewis Carey had no chance! They should have equalised seconds before when the ball broke kindly for Umerah but Carey saved his low shot.

50' GOAL MAIDENHEAD! Remy Clerima meets a corner from the right and he heads the ball down and into the net. A great header from the defender! 1-1

A couple of changes at the break for Maidenhead. Umerah and Dulson came on for Harriott and Andrews. And Dulson almost makes an immediate difference. Bursting into the box on the left. The ball drops back for Robinson but his shot his blocked. 0-1

45' There will be five minutes of stoppages. Maidenhead players have been chasing Horsham around the field though. The visitors are keeping the ball very well and hold the lead heading into the break. 0-1

45' Substitute Josh Popoola races away from his marker into the box and goes down, but the referee waves away Maidenhead appeals for a penalty.

40' Goal Horsham. It had been coming. Maidenhead switch off from a free kick and the ball is rolled into Shamir Fenelon who blasts home past JVS. 0-1

40' It's been a really disappointing half in an attacking sense for the Magpies. They've yet to have an effort on or off goal and the closest they've come was a few seconds ago, when Mitchell-Lawson crossed the ball into the hands of goalkeeper Lewis Carey. Horsham should take some credit for that and for limiting the Magpies creativity, but it's simply not been good enough from the hosts so far, fatigued or not. 0-0

37' Asher Yearwood is replaced by Josh Popoola. He went down earlier so probably a forced change for the Magpies rather than a tatical one. 0-0

35' Yellow card for Owen Cochrane for pulling back Reece Meekums.

30'  Couple of chances on the edge of the area for Jack Brivio, but he catches neither of them particularly well. The first, left-footed is blocked back to him and the second - on his right - rolls tamely along the ground before also being dealt with by the Magpies defence. 0-0

28' We're almost half an hour in and Maidenhead are yet to create a single chance, or even a dangerous moment. It's just not sticking with the front men and they've been unable to bring others into the game. 0-0

22' The temperature must be such that we're having a mid-half water break. Good chance for both teams to have a chat to the players and reaffirm the game plan. 0-0

18' The heat and the fact both sides played on Saturday might be having an impact on the energy levels here. 0-0

15' A really slow start to the game from both sides. Maidenhead are struggling to make inroads while Horsham have had the one chance for Murphy which JVS saved well. 0-0

11' Decent chance for the visitors as Horsham striker Rhys Murphy gets clear of the Magpies defence and tries to curl a shot past Van Stappershoef, but the Magpies keeper flings himself across goal to make the save. 0-0

8' A strange incident here as one of the Horsham players runs into the metal fencing surrounding the pitch. Looks like he'll be ok to continue after some treatment. 0-0

3' Will be interesting to see how the changes made by Maidenhead this afternoon impact the side. Big afternoon for Harriott and Andrews. A chance for them to impress. 0-0

1' The game gets under. Maidenhead attacking the Canal End of the ground. 0-0

The players are out. Maidenhead in their black and white half and half jersey with white shorts and red socks. Horsham in yellow and green.

Setting the scene.

There was great disappointment after Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Weston Super Mare. While Maidenhead didn't quite do enough to win the match, they probably didn't deserve to lose it. Especially, to a 92nd minute winner.

And the visitors line up as follows.

Today's Magpies' team is as follows. There are first starts of the season for Callum Harriott, Corie Andrews and Jayden Mitchell-Lawson

Maidenhead United head into their fifth league game this afternoon against Horsham FC still searching for their first league win of the season. They'd love to get that monkey off their backs this afternoon, much as they did last season when they defeated Barnet on the August Bank Holiday.

On Saturday, they suffered the sickener of a 92nd minute defeat at Weston-Super-Mare, Lewis Skinner running through to slot home late on.

That result leaves the Magpies 19th in the table on two points, but it's still very early days as this new-look Magpies squad looks to find their stride and get to know each other's game.

Horsham won their first game of the season on Saturday, with Grant claiming their 94th minute winner in a 2-1 win over Torquay United. That lifted the visitors to 14th in the table.
