Maidenhead United will host either Faversham Town or Hastings United in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup at York Road.

The tie will take place over the weekend of Saturday, September 13, with the first-round replay between Faversham and Hastings to take place at Pilot Field tomorrow evening (Tuesday).

There was plenty of late drama in Saturday’s tie The Aquatherm Stadium.

Having taken the lead through Finley Chapman (20') in the first half, Hastings United were pegged back by Tommie Fagg;s 89th minute penalty.

Charlie Paye then went from hero to villain for Hastings in second half stoppage time, scoring what looked like being the winner in the 94th minute before scoring an own goal just a minute later to ensure the game went to a replay.

Both Faversham and Hastings play two levels below the Magpies in the Isthmian League South East Division, with Faversham currently leading the way in first with Hastings in 14th place.

United should be heavy favourites to go through at York Road.

Maidenhead’s National League South rivals Slough Town also enter the competition at this stage and Scott Davies’ side have been handed a tricky trip to step 3 side Welling United.

Welling have made a disappointing start to their Isthmian League Premier Division campaign, sitting down in 19th place, but they had enough about them to get the better of Uxbridge on Saturday.

Welling came from behind to win the game 2-1 with late goals from Logan Dobbs (87') and Greg Cundle (90+5').

Flackwell Heath’s reward for Saturday’s impressive 2-1 win over step 3 side Lewes is a trip to Soul Tower Hamlets FC on September 13.

Soul Tower play in the Essex Senior League at step five and have made a decent start to the season, sitting seventh after playing four matches.

The Heathens progressed to the second qualifying round for the first time in six years after coming from behind to beat Lewes on Saturday. The game looked to be headed for deadlock until Ryan Bernal fired the visitors in front at Wilks Park, however, Chris Ayres side scored twice in the final minutes through Connor Young and Harlem Hale to book their place in the next round.

Following this weekend’s first qualifying round matches there are still 23 ties to be settled, including Faversham’s tie with Hastings.

Winning clubs at the second qualifying round stage will receive £3,375 from the FA Prize fund and losing teams will collect £1,125.
