Maidenhead United vs Hemel Hempstead Town

Hemel with a shot deflected just wide of the post in the final minute. 2-2

Is there one last twist left in this contest? 

A much better second half performance from the Magpies here, irrespective of the final result. They've pushed really hard for a winner and have been on top for most of the half. 2-2 

90' Six minutes of stoppage time. Maidenhead have a corner. It drops for Robinson who turns and fires a low shot just wide. 2-2

85' Great chance for Dulson to score a third for Maidenhead. Umerah goes down under a challenge in the area and the ball ricochets to Dulson who smashes the ball goalwards only for Michael Johnson to make a fine save. 2-2

80' Dulson does well to get on the ball and hang a cross up to the back post where Mitchell-Lawson volleys it back across the area but no one is there to tap the ball home. More pressure from the home side. 2-2

77' Owen Cochrane goes on a run to the edge of the area and tests the Hemel keeper with a low shot. United well on top now 2-2

73' The Magpies are playing with far more intensity this half - they're pegging the Tudors back for the time being. 2-2

Maidenhead have had a good 10 minute spell here. They'll feel they should be ahead with the chances they've created. 2-2

66' Good interplay between Dulson and Yearwood and a rasping drive from Dulson that Johnson shovels behind unconvincingly. 2-2 

64' Yearwood goes close from a free kick just outside the area. He bends the ball around the wall but the Hemel keeper manages to get across his goal to claw it behind for a corner. 2-2

60' Dowrich has a pop at goal from distance but Van Stappershoef gets down well to save. 2-2

54' Maidenhead swing in a free kick from the right but Hemel deal with the danger and break upfield, forcing a corner. 2-2

Back underway. Maidenhead attacking the Bell Street End in the second half. They're defending an early corner and just switch off a little, Adenola firing over the bar under pressure. 2-2

Half-time: Maidenhead United 2, Hemel Hempstead Town 2

A slightly odd half and Maidenhead will be slightly annoyed not to be leading at the break. There's been very little goalmouth action really aside from the four goals. Both the Magpies goals were extremely well worked and well taken by Liam Dulson and Josh Umerah which is a positive. Hemel's second goal from the penalty was very soft. Sure Devonshire and Peters will have something to say about that after the final whistle. All to play for. 

That was a super soft penalty decision. Dowrich was already on his way down as he raced onto the ball and Popoola leant into him. White made no mistake however, smashing home his third goal in two games. 2-2 

45' Penalty to Hemel. Popoola leans into Darion Dowrich and the referee points to the spot. 

Joe White converts for his second of the evening. Smashing the ball straight down the middle and past Van Stappershoef. 2-2

42' Goal Maidenhead! Josh Umerah fires the Magpies back in front. It's great work from Yearwood who collects the ball on his chest and picks out Umerah with his cut back and the striker sidefoots the ball past Michael Johnson - another lovely Maidenhead goal! 2-1

Josh Popoola has been the real bright spark for the Magpies so far. He looks full of confidence and is giving the Hemel left back a really difficult game. 

Others, like Yearwood and Umerah have yet to really settle and look a bit uncertain of what to do when they receive the ball. 

30' Maidenhead make a mess of another simple ball into the box and defender Kyle Ajayi fires over the bar when he should have at least tested Van Stappershoef. He hooked the ball over the bar left footed on the turn. 1-1 

United currently look a little shaky in defence. 

Elsewhere this evening, Slough Town are currently 1-0 down at Dorking Wanderers

Shots of Liam Dulson firing the Magpies in front. Robinson and Popoola also deserve great credit for unpicking the Tudors defence. 

26' There's a break in play while the Hemel keeper Michael Johnson receives treatment for an injury. 

23' Maidenhead have got into some encouraging areas without finding the final ball to unlock the Hemel defence. Popoola has looked a danger down the right and Dulson has made some positive inroads down the left but this game is very much in the balance still. 1-1

11' Goal Hemel. Maidenhead's lead didn't last long. Hemel swing the ball into the box and Joe White manages to control it under pressure and squeeze a shot under van Stappershoef. 1-1

8' Goal Maidenhead! A fantastic flowing move sees Robinson thread a pass through to Popoola on the right and he keeps his head to square the ball for Liam Dulson to fire home low past Michael Johnson. Great start for United! 1-0

1' Maidenhead force an attacking throw in on the far side and have loaded the box. Umerah manages to hold off his man and get a shot away on goal but the Tudors' keeper saves comfortably. 0-0 

Magpies will attack  the Canal End in the first half. Crowd is definitely down on last season, however, that's more because of a lack of away supporters. Also no segregation tonight so the Hemel fans are largely behind the goal at the Bell Street End. 

The players are out on the pitch and shaking hands.

United line up in their new home shirt. It's not stripes but it's pretty stylish, half and half black and white, with red socks and red number/names.

There's one change to the Magpies starting line up from Saturday's draw at Enfield, Josh Popoola coming into the starting line up for the injured Sam Barratt

The last time these two sides met in the league at York Road, United ran out 5-0 winners with Dave Tarpey scoring four of them. They went on to claim the league title that season. 

We're just over an hour away from kick off at York Road. 

United are searching for their first win of the campaign after claiming their first point of the season at Enfield on Saturday.

Maidenhead United head into tonight's clash with Hemel Hempstead Town looking to register their first win of the National League South season. There were definite signs of improvement in Saturday's goalless draw with Enfield Town - a match assistant boss Ryan Peters felt the Magpies should have won - and they'll be looking to give their season lift-off with a victory over the Tudors this evening. Hemel come to York Road in decent form however, having drawn with Maidstone and defeated Slough Town at Arbour Park on Saturday
