Update. 8pm: All lanes have reopened on the M4 westbound following a major crash near Slough earlier today. 

National Highways said long delays still remain on the affected motorway, between junctions 5 and 6, with around two miles of congestion.


Update 6.55pm: There are up to one and a half hours of delays on the M4 near Slough while emergency services respond to a crash involving multiple vehicles. 

Traffic England's travel map displayed traffic as 'not moving', and warned drivers that delays were expected to continue until at least 8.45pm this evening. 

Two lanes remain closed on the M4 westbound between junctions 5 and 6, following the crash which happened at around 5pm. 


M4 drivers have been warned to expect delays after a multi-vehicle crash near Slough this afternoon (November 4). 

National Highways has said two lanes of the westbound section of motorway, between junctions 5 and 6, are closed while emergency services attend the crash.

There are up to 20 minutes of delays on the affected motorway section, while Traffic England's travel map said normal road conditions were expected to return by 6.15pm. 

Firefighters from Slough Fire Station have been called to the scene.
