Fire crews were called to an overheating lorry on the A404(M) near Maidenhead early on Tuesday morning (March 17).
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene at around 8.28am on Tuesday, March 17, after reports of a vehicle fire on the northbound carriageway between Holyport and Maidenhead Thicket.
Crews from Windsor, Maidenhead and Slough fire stations found a lorry cab with overheated brakes and wheel bearings rather than an active fire.
Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to monitor the temperature of the vehicle and remained on site until it had cooled and was safe.
They then helped secure the area before handing the incident over to National Highways and a recovery mechanic.
Crews were at the scene for around 25 minutes.
