Man jailed after police find £8,700's worth of crack and heroin at his house

A Slough man has been imprisoned for three years and seven months for having hundreds of drug-deals’ worth crack and heroin in his house.

Jardelle Gumbs, aged 23, of The Frithe, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday (September 3) after pleading guilty to one count each of possession of intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.

At around 5.45pm on Tuesday, February 11, police searched Gumbs’ home, having been issued a warrant to do so.

In the property, officers found:

• Four bundles of crack cocaine containing 153 street deals
• Fifty-seven street deals' worth of heroin
• Four cling film wraps of uncut crack cocaine
• A black bag also containing four grams of uncut crack cocaine
• A purple notebook believed to be used in connection with supplying crack and heroin.

The drugs had a street value totalling approximately, £8,740.

He was charged with the offences the next day.

Investigating officer, PC Tom Kennedy, said: “Our proactive team will target and prosecute offenders, and our activity will be both visible and covert aimed at disrupting and pursuing offenders involved in the supply of drugs.

“The information from the public around the drug supply offences in Reading plays an important role in developing intelligence into a proactive investigation.
