Burnham are through to the third round of the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup after comfortably seeing off the challenge of Sandhurst Town at the 1878 Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Blues eased into the next round with a 5-2 victory, their goals coming from Yahaya Kamara (5'), Kristian Belousas (10') Shyon Dennis (46', 61') and Jordan Ikala (68').

It’s been a good week for the Blues, who also hammered Edgware & Kingsbury 4-0 in the league on Saturday, however, Broadfields United’s 1-1 draw against Wokingham Town on Tuesday has seen them replaced at the top of the Combined Counties Premier Division North table on goal difference, albeit Broadfields have played two more matches.

Elsewhere in the Senior Cup, Slough Town advanced to the next round following a straight-forward 3-0 win away to Binfield at the Iconic Stadium.

Jordan Greenidge fired the Rebels in front on the stroke of half-time and second half goals from Ruben Bartlett-Antwi and Colin Chellembrom completed a comfortable away win.

Last season’s finalists Flackwell Heath were fallers at the second-round stage, however, as Chris Ayres side were beaten 3-0 by Didcot Town at Wilks Park.

The Heathens - like Slough - may have had one eye on Saturday’s FA Cup fourth qualifying round match at Maldon & Tiptree, but they failed to reach the levels we’ve come to expect from them at Wilks Park, as goals from Owen James (12) and Tygar Wall (39) saw Didcot take control of the tie in the first half. An own goal from Joshua Light in the 54th minute then killed off any hopes of a second half comeback for the hosts.

Most second round ties were completed this week, with Newport Pagnell Town defeating Aylesbury United 4-0 at home, Abingdon United getting the better of Milton Keynes Irish 4-3, Hungerford Town edging out Reading City 2-1, Wycombe Wanderers winning 2-1 away at Penn & Tylers Green, holders Bracknell Town dispatching Risborough Rangers with a 3-1 home win, Milton Keynes Dons easing to a 4-1 win at Holmer Green, Beaconsfield Town cruising to a 6-1 win over Berks County, Chesham United defeating Thatcham Town 4-0 at home and Winslow United beating Wantage Town 4-0.

Two further second round ties will take place next week, with Maidenhead United travelling to AFC Aldermaston on Wednesday, October 15, and Isthmian League South Central Division Ascot United hosting Southern League Central side Marlow on Tuesday, October 14.
