Harold, Richard passed away last week, aged 71, after a long illness, very bravely fought.Born in Maidenhead in 1954, he moved to South Africa in the early 1980’s where he lived for nearly 15 years. Upon his return to the UK, he became a Publican, managing pubs in Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and locally, in Holyport. Richard was known for his welcoming manner, and for always being open and supportive. A treasured Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend who will be sadly missed, but very well remembered.

Potter Joyce Beryl - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joyce Beryl Potter on 1st February 2026 at Henley Manor Care Home, having just celebrated her 93rd birthday with all her family. Loved wife to the late Bernard John Potter and loving mother to Marcus, Simon and Rupert, mother-in-law to Katie, Lisa and Claire, grandmother to Harriette, Oliver, Imogen, Benjamin, Josephie, Edward and Florence and great grandmother to Freddie and Piper. Missed and loved by all who knew her. A Celebration of life service will be held on 27th March 2026 at 3.45pm at Trinity Church Greys Hill Henley-on-Thames and will be followed by a reception at Phyllis Court Club from 5pm. Diana Herke, 1 Jan 1943 – 22 May 2024. It is with sorrow that we announce that Diana Herke died suddenly and unexpectedly on 22 May 2024 at home in Maidenhead where she had lived since 1980. Diana is survived by her husband Peter of 58 years, two children Vivienne, Kevin and five grandchildren. Diana was born in Exeter, her mother introduced her to tennis in early life and actively supported her at many junior tennis tournaments as a teenager in the West Country. In 1961 she passed the Level 1 coaching exam at Bisham, met her husband at Bracknell LTC in 1963 and they married 3 years later. In 1970 she joined Maidenhead Lawn Tennis Club and was a very active player and coach for 50+ years. Diana was also an active swimmer at the Holiday Inn for 25 years where she made many friends. Cultivating friendships wherever she lived and being a loyal, caring and thoughtful friend were hallmarks of her life. Diana was also a keen reader, theatre goer and supporter of the Arts.
