ONE of Henley Hockey Club’s longest-serving members has hung up her hockey stick after 45 years.
Joyce Green, 61, started playing when she was a pupil at the Piggott School in Wargrave and joined the club when she was 16.
She continued to play right up until the beginning of this season.
Mrs Green, a pharmacy dispenser, said: “I thought it was time to retire and hang up my stick but I will be over there every week anyway to watch because it’s just good fun.
“It is strange not getting up early on a Saturday morning to go and play.”
