Police seek witnesses after man 'seriously injured' in crash between a van and a lorry

Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash between a van driver and a lorry driver around White Waltham/Maidenhead that caused ‘serious injuries’ and led to an arrest.

On Wednesday, February 18, at around 9.10am, a white van and a flat-bed lorry with scaffolding equipment crashed on Waltham Road.

The van was a plain white Luton-style van, and the lorry was a white Ford Transit flat-bed lorry with scaffolding equipment and black and white branding.

The lorry driver, a man in his thirties, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

The van driver, a 32-year-old man from Milton Keynes, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and perverting the course of justice. He has been released under investigation.

Investigating officer PC Molly Clague, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “I am appealing for anyone who can help our investigation into this collision, which has left a man with serious injuries, to please get in touch.

“Please also contact us if you saw the vehicles involved and their manor of driving before the collision.

“If you were driving in the area at the time of the collision and have a dash-cam, please check your recording in case it has captured something that could assist us and get in touch if you have.”

Any witnesses or anyone with footage should call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43260082171.
